The Breathometer Measures Blood Alcohol Right from Your iPhone

Smartphones are getting so good that you can hook up almost anything to them and get some vital information. This is the case of the Breathometer, the world’s first smartphone Breathalyzer, which connects to a smartphone and works together with an app to measure blood alcohol concentration (BAC).

When you want to know how much alcohol concentration you have on your blood, you simply connect it to the headphone jack of your iPhone, open the app, blow into the device and wait for the app to tell you.

This device is very small, and it is designed to work as a keychain so you can carry it everywhere.

“Breathometer wasn’t created just to address the risks associated with drinking and driving,” said Charles Michael Yim, Founder & CEO of Breathometer. “but to help people, their friends and family, all to make smart and safer choices when consuming alcohol. Real time BAC measurement is the first step.”

Currently the Breathometer is in development and the company expects to ship it this summer. For now, the Breathometer is under a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and by pledging $20 you can secure one.
