Apple Releases iOS 6 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Apple has just release the much anticipated new version of iOS, iOS 6. The update is available as of now through iTunes and Over The Air (OTA).

Devices that can install iOS 6 are:

  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPod Touch 4th generation
  • iPad 2nd generation
  • iPad 3rd generation

If you are updating Over The Air, make sure your device has at least 50% of battery life and, if you want to make sure you don't pay extra charges for mobile data, connect to Wi-Fi. To update this way, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

If you do it through iTunes, take advantage of it by making a backup on your computer.

Like you a lot of people will be downoading this update. This can cause some traffic problems on Apple servers, which in consequence can cause errors from some people. Be patient, it can take some time.
