See the New Otterbox Cases for the iPhone 5

The new iPhone 5 is coming next week and most of you have been wondering if the accessory makers are ready. Last year it was far easier for them since the iPhone 4S mostly had the same measurements and form factor the iPhone 4 sport the previous year. This time around, we have a thinner device with a larger screen.

Popular iPhone accessory maker Otterbox has announced that it is in the process of readying an iPhone 5 lineup that includes known models with some redesigns, and completely new models.

Otterbox will have the Commuter, Reflex and Defender series ready for the iPhone 5 and will be introducing a new series, the Prefix.

The Defender is the tough one of them all. The slipcover has been improved to be more durable, while the belt clip now features smooth ratcheting motion, streamlined locking function and hook clip. Also the holster has been improved so it can be slimmer and has better grip on the device.

Meanwhile the Commuter's interior slipcover has been improved to withstand heavy use and to hold its shape a little longer. The Reflex mostly stayed the same, just sharing the new camera access design with the rest of the iPhone 5 series.

Finally the Prefix is a new series is a cross between the Commuter with some protection offered by the Defender. It has an internal skeleton that provides structural support and protects against shocks and bumps. It also has a self-adhering screen protector.

The Defender is available for pre-order for $49.95 and comes in a variety of colors. The Commuter and the Reflex will be available in a variety of colors soon for $34.95. Finally the Prefix will be available soon in "carbon" color for $24.95.
