It started with Google's update to its Google+ iOS app. They included a tweak that allows web links on Google+ posts to open on the Chrome browser if installed in the iOS device. We knew what would happen later.
And that is that other apps would try to include this tweak. One such app is Weather Neue, which has been updated to include such functionality. This tweak gives users a choice whether open links on Safari, how it normally works, or select Chrome. In this case, the developer's website goes straight to Chrome.
These kind of tweaks exists in other apps, for example you can use Snapseed to edit a photo and when you are finished, open that photo on Instagram so you can share it with your friends. On that side, this kind of tweaks exist, but it is the first time I see it working with browsers.
Weather Neue is a free weather app that you can find in the App Store [iTunes Link].
